Love
Most people want love. To be in love. They search for love. They go out on countless dates looking for love. They write poems about love. They come up with beautiful quotes about love. Write and/or sing songs about love. Take pictures of love. They long for love. They write love letters. They wait countless hours, days, and years just waiting to fall in love. Then, when it happens….. some don’t know how to react to love. They are worried they are going to ruin it. They start playing games. Every word needs to be censored and thought out before spoken. Walls need to be built to keep themselves from getting hurt but it only keeps them from truly loving. Masks start to be put on. Every move and touch is planned. Before long, they are pushing away the love they have always wanted and longed for. But why? Why do they do this? I’m not saying everyone does this, so don’t get me wrong. Maybe it is something they have built up over time from getting hurt. Or just the simple inability to grasp the fact that love doesn’t need to be so complicated. They should just be themselves, take down the walls, communicate with each other without censor, take off the different mask, stop planning each movement, and just live in the present. Maybe then, the love songs, love letters, love poems, and love quotes will finally all become a beautiful reality.
