On Death
(I wrote this E-mail to someone who just had a friend pass away. I thought I’d post it here in case it could help someone else.)
I know you are going through a really hard time right now. Death is a part of life. Everyone we know is going to die someday. Death will always be something I’ll never truly understand but we can’t live forever. This planet doesn’t have enough space for us to do so. lol You are going to end up grieving from any death and the length of time varies from one person to the next. They say there are different stages of grieving…. Shock and Denial, Pain and Guilt, Anger, Depression, Acceptance and Hope….. there may be more… I believe that when it’s you time, it’s your time. And whatever purpose that person was put on Earth to do was finished and it was just their time to go. We may never know what their purpose was and that’s okay. We have to accept that. I also believe everything happens for a reason and you might not know it now or in a year from now but it does. There’s always something to be learned or taught or taken from any situation that can make us better people, whether it be from the death itself or from the person passing. We need to celebrate their life and never forget that person in our hearts.
This is only what I believe. You can agree or disagree and that’s okay because there really isn’t a right or wrong. Life and death are only what you make of it. I hope this can help.
